MAPUA Red Robins fought back from a huge fourth quarter deficit and held steady in overtime to defeat the Lyceum Junior Pirates, 102-98, in the NCAA Season 93 juniors basketball tournament on Friday at The Arena in San Juan.

Trailing big for the first three quarters, the Red Robins unleashed a 15-0 blitz in the fourth to tie the game at 81-all.

Mapua even managed to take the lead in the dying seconds before Lyceum’s Marj De Leon sank a buzzer-beater to force the extra period after tying the game at 90-all.

The Red Robins, though, took over in overtime to secure their seventh win in the first round of the tournament.

Clint Escamis led the Red Robins with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Mike Enriquez and Erick Jabel chipped in 17 markers apiece.

“Mas mataas yung energy nila noong first half.
