    Calimag shows form for pacesetting Greenies in big win over Jr Pirates

    RC Calimag recorded his best game to date, lifting CSB-La Salle Greenhills to an 80-71 victory over Lyceum to stay on top of the NCAA Season 94 juniors basketball tournament on Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

    The Batang Gilas standout made his imprint, pouring 25 points, nine rebounds and two steals, much to the delight of coach Marvin Bienvenida.

    “He’s a good pickup for the team,” he said of Calimag, who came from De La Salle Zobel. “He’s just being patient all along and waiting for his time to come. We haven’t seen the best of him yet.”

    Joshua David provided support with 12 points, six rebounds and three assists, Mark Sangco had 10 points and seven boards, while Inand Fornillos had seven points, hauled down 14 rebounds and made four blocks.

    Those were enough for league-leading CSB-LSGH (5-1), which had a silent offensive outing from Joel Cagulangan, who had eight points, nine assists and three rebounds.

    The Junior Pirates wasted Mclaude Guadana’s 23 points, four rebounds and two assistsand Marj de Leon's double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds as they fell to 2-5.

    Meanwhile, Clint Escamis lifted Mapua to an 85-77 victory over San Sebastian.

    The senior swingman uncorked 25 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals to help the Red Robins bounce back and rise to 4-2.

    Jonnel Policarpio contributed a double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds, Dan Arches also had his share with 20 points, 11 assists, seven boards, three steals, and Paolo Hernandez got 13 points and nine rebounds in the win.

    Kean Baclaan also saw his 27 points go down the drain together with his four rebounds and four assists for the Staglets.

    Milo Janao chipped in 20 points and three rebounds, while JP Timbancaya got 13 and six.

    Arellano also bounced back with a 78-72 triumph of Letran in the nightcap.

    Aaron Fermin continued his dominating stretch, this time logging 27 points and 20 rebounds in the Braves conquest.

    Rom Junsay supported him with 25 points and three boards, while Rodel Templonuevo got 10 and three to help Arellano rise to 4-1.

    Lenard Santiago had 21 points and six rebounds for the Squires, who fell to 1-4.
