DEFENDING champion Mapua finally strung two wins in a row in the NCAA Season 95 juniors basketball tournament, outlasting Jose Rizal University, 72-65, in overtime Friday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Rookie Megan Galang exploded for nine of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, as he teamed up with Jonnel Policarpio's 15 to rescue the Red Robins after trailing by as many as 12, 50-38, in the payoff period.

The duo's heroics late paved the way for Mapua stealing the game in the extension.
