MAPUA beat Letran, 91-75, on Tuesday night to take solo lead in the NCAA Season 93 juniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Clint Escamis had 18 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Will Gozum added 17 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks for the Red Robins, who earned their second win in as many games.
Former Far Eastern University cager Erick Jabel had 16 points and five assists in his first NCAA outing for the Red Robins, who led by as many as 22 points in the match.
The Red Robins outscored the Squires, 29-13, in the second quarter and never let up the rest of the way.
Neil Tolentino finished with 15 points for the Squires, who beefed up their roster for this season under first-year head coach Raymund Valenzona.
