    Lyceum Jr Pirates regain second spot with victory over San Sebastian Staglets

    LYCEUM and CSB-La Salle Greenhills boosted their Final Four chances in the NCAA Season 95 juniors basketball tournament with victories on Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

    The Junior Pirates defeated San Sebastian, 82-72.

    John Barba had 25 points, 13 rebounds and four assists as Lyceum notched its third straight win to improve to a 10-6 slate to regain the No. 2 spot in the standings. San Beda leads with a 15-1 record.

    Gyle Montano continued his stellar showing with 21 points, eight boards, an assist and a block, as Mac Guadana had 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and one steal.

    Rafael Are led the Golden Staglets with 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals, while Dylan Darbin got 14 points and six boards for San Sebastian, which fell to 8-7.

    Meanwhile, the Greenies cruised to back-to-back wins with a 30-point rout of EAC-Immaculate Concepcion Academy, 81-51.

    RC Calimag had 19 points, three assists and two rebounds as LSGH improved its record to 9-6.

    Miguel Reyes had his breakout performance with 17 points and two boards, Kobe Palencia scattered 14 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals, while Jan Manansala got 13 points, seven boards, two assists and two steals.

    JR Illustrisimo had 18 points and seven rebounds for the also-ran Brigadiers, who dropped to 2-13.

    In the nightcap, JRU fended off Perpetual, 85-76.

    Gholam Garcia topped the Light Bombers with 24 points, four rebounds, and two assists as they improved to 8-7.

    Condrad Famaranco had 21 points and four boards, while Jonathan Medina got a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.

    Shawn Orgo led the Junior Altas with 19 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals to fall to a 5-10 record.
