LA Salle Greenhills advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Season 93 juniors basketball after a 108-82 win over San Sebastian in a playoff on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Greenies secured the No. 4 spot and arranged a semifinal encounter with top-seed San Beda on Friday.
San Beda owns a twice-to-beat advantage over LSGH.
Joel Cagulangan had 30 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks, while Inand Fornilos contributed 24 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks for the Greenies.
Joshua David had 17 points and six assists for LSGH, which outscored San Sebastian, 34-16, in the third period.
San Sebastian players were in tears following the defeat as the Staglets’ campaign in Season 93 ended with a defeat. The Staglets were able to force a playoff for No. 4 after tying the Greenies at the end of the eliminations with an 11-7 record.
Nevertheless, it was a big finish for the Staglets, who only won two matches in Season 92.
Romel Calahat had 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Staglets, who led by four points at the half, 49-45, but could not hold on.
