JACOB Cortez buried the game-winning triple with 1.8 seconds to spare as CSB-La Salle Greenhills pulled off a come-from-behind 65-62 victory against Letran to end the NCAA Season 94 juniors basketball tournament eliminations on a hight note Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The booming triple completed a huge surge from the Greenies, who stared at a 10-point deficit in the fourth period and still pulled off the victory to cap off an amazing eliminations with their 16-2 card.
With the game tied at 62, CJ Saure had a chance to secure the upset for the Squires, but his floater went a little short.
That window of opportunity was all CSB-LSGH needed as Ladis Lepalam handed off the rock to Cortez, who buried the clincher from deep.
Cortez finished with eight points, six rebounds, four assists, and four steals as the Greenies weathered the absences of Joel Cagulangan, Inand Fornilos, and Joshua David, all of whom are resting in time for the Final Four against JRU.
Diego Morales led the top-seed CSB-LSGH with 12 points and six boards, while Jan Natividad got eight points and two rebounds.
Saure, Andrei Romenez, and Shawn Argente all had 10 in the losing effort for Letran (4-14).
