CSB-La Salle Greenhills bounced back with a 74-66 clipping and ended Arellano's five-game winning streak Tuesday in the NCAA Season 95 juniors basketball tournament at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
RC Calimag carried the Greenies with 19 points, four rebounds, and two assists as his side rose to joint second place at 5-2.
Kobe Palencia joined in the party with 17 points, four boards, and two dimes, while Jiam Quiambao added 13 points and two rebounds as LSGH rebounded from its 69-66 upset loss to Letran last week.
The Greenies frontline also made their presence felt, with Gian Arciaga contributing 10 points and five rebounds, as Jan Manansala chipped in six points, 13 boards, and three blocks.
LSGH was quick to seize control of the game, holding a 10-point lead, 58-48, entering the payoff period, and fended off numerous rallies from Arellano in the endgame.
Rodman Templonuevo paced the Braves (5-2) with 16 points and six boards, while Adrian Rellama had 13 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the loss.
Earlier, Mapua downed EAC-Immaculate Concepcion Academy with an 83-68 victory.
Jonnel Policarpio made up for his bad game the last time out and unfurled a double-double with his 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Red Robins, who have won two of their last three games to improve to 2-5.
Megan Galang chimed in 16 points and three assists, as John Echavia had 11 points in the triumph.
Adrian Balowa anchored the Brigadiers with 21 points and eight rebounds, Mark Sanosa scored 19 points, and JR Ilustrisimo got 10 points, 15 boards, and four assists.
EAC-ICA stayed at the cellar with its 1-6 card.
