LETRAN is putting its do-or-die semifinals loss against La Salle Greenhills under the microscope after the back-to-back defending champions were ousted from the NCAA Season 100 juniors basketball tournament on Wednesday.

The Squires fell to the Greenies, 78-77 at the Fil Oil EcoOil Center as the boys of Renren Ritualo completed a two-game sweep of their higher-seeded opponents. However, the three-peat seeking squad asked the Management Committee to review the game.

Squires coach Willie Miller formalized the complaint by writing a letter addressed to NCAA ManComm chairman Hercules Callanta of Lyceum and his vice-chairman, Melchor Divina of Mapua.

Their point of contention comes at the final 6.5 econd mark of the game, where they claimed a Arle Podador flop should've warranted a defensive foul under the NCAA rulebook.

Since the Greenies were already in penalty, it would've given the Squires two free throws and a chance to win the game.

That said play was reviewed by the referees real time, but was deemed inconclusive by the game officials.

So instead of two free throws, Daniel Padilla missed what would've been the game winner as time ran out to give the Greenies the victory.

In the letter, Miller detailed how the live stream of the game 'clearly showed that the LSGH player flopped,' while stating that the call could've changed the compexion of the game.

Miller ended the letter by urging the ManComm to review the incident and 'ensure fairness and integrity in the game.'

The NCAA has yet to respond to the letter as of posting time, but since it's not formally under protest, it's not clear as to what 'necessary actions' the Squires want to happen.
