JOSE Rizal High School remained poised for a Final Four spot, squeaking past skidding Arellano, 75-73, Friday in the NCAA Season 94 juniors basketball tournament at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

John Amores uncorked 26 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals as the Light Bombers remained at solo fourth place with their 10-6 card.

John Delos Santos added 19 points, six boards, five assists, four steals, and a block, Gab Baluyot had 10 points and seven rebounds, and Thomas Vasquez got 10 in the win.

Amores put JRU up 10, 75-65 with less than three minutes remaining, but the Kalentong side had to fend off a late rally from Arellano as it only heaved a sigh of relief after Rom Junsay muffed the potential game-winner from half-court.

Aaron Fermin poured 25 points and 19 rebounds for the Braves, as they fell to a 6-9 record.

Junsay had 16 points and a pair of boards and assists, while Lars Sunga got 16 points and seven rebounds in the losing cause.
