INAND Fornilos gave CSB-La Salle Greenhills the boost it needed to score the 76-65 conquest of San Sebastian for its ninth straight win in the NCAA Season 94 juniors basketball tournament Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The reigning Defensive Player of the Year uncorked 11 of his 24 points in the third quarter as the greenies broke away from a 29-30 halftime deficit to a commanding 56-43 lead entering the payoff period.
Fornilos' effort was the shot in the arm the boys of coach Marvin Bienvenida needed to maintain its position at the top of the standings at 10-1.
He also got 17 rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Joshua David provided the support on the offensive end with 19 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals for CSB-LSGH.
Joel Cagulangan mustered eight points on a horror 3-of-12 sniping from the field, but still was able to dish out six assists, grab three rebounds, and swipe the ball thrice to aid the Greenies in the win.
Kean Baclaan carried San Sebastian with 14 points, eight rebounds, and three assists, but those numbers were not enough to stop his side from dropping to a 4-8 record.
JP Timbancaya also got 14, while Milo Janao had 13 points and four rebounds in the defeat.
