    Cagulangan debuts in style for Greenies in NCAA juniors

    JOEL Cagulangan was quick to impress as CSB-La Salle Green Hills started its title-retention bid in style with a 93-80 victory over San Sebastian on Friday in the NCAA Season 94 juniors’ basketball tournament.

    The diminutive guard poured in 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, to go with nine assists, four steals, and two rebounds to show the way for the Greenies at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

    Jacob Cortez chipped in 14 points and eight boards, Mark Sangco contributed 13 points and five rebounds, and Inand Fornilos had 11 and seven.

    Batang Gilas forward RC Calimag also added 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists for CSB-LSGH’s first win of the season.

    Milo Janao topscored with 16 points to go with four rebounds but couldn't save the Staglets from falling to an even 1-1 slate.

    Perpetual also continued its rise to the top of the standings, dispatching Letran, 73-57, in the nightcap.

    Yukihiro Kawamura drilled six triples on his way to 18 points to keep the Junior Altas unscathed at 2-0.

    Joshua Gallano added a double-double of 14 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists, while Ezdel Galoy had 12 points and nine boards in the triumph.

    Ralph Yanes took advantage of the extended garbage time with 11 points and four rebounds for the Squires.

    In the curtain raiser, Lyceum-Cavite made easy pickings of EAC-Immaculate Conception Academy with a 74-63 trouncing for its first win of the season.

    John Barba poured 22 points and nine rebounds, while Marj de Leon had 11 and seven.

    Fresh from his Batang Gilas stint, Mclaude Guadana also delivered nine points and two rebounds in the conquest to level the Junior Pirates’ standing to 1-1.

    Cjay Boado carried the Brigadiers with 16 points, five rebounds, and three assists in the defeat.
