KOBE Camacho had 23 points and Fred Segura scored 20 as Arellano beat San Sebastian, 86-80, on Thursday in the NCAA Season 93 juniors basketball tournament at the Arellano Gym.
The Braves won on their homecourt in the league's second NCAA On Tour match in the juniors division to improve to 1-1.
Arellano opened the season with a loss to reigning champion Mapua at the Letran Gym.
Camacho, a transferee from Lyceum, sizzled with 13 points in the first half, before Segura, a recruit from Davao, pumped in 15 in the second.
The Braves appeared to be in total control of the match after taking a 25-13 lead at the end of the first quarter but were limited to only six points in the second quarter. The game was tight the rest of the way until Segura hit five straight points for a 71-61 Braves lead in the fourth.
"Maganda 'yung linalaro ng Baste. Balita ko nag-champion sila ng Fr. Martin, mataas 'yung kumpiyansa nila. Hindi talaga kami puwedeng mag-kumpiyansa," said Arellano coach Tylon Darjuan.
"Makakatulong talaga sa amin 'yung dalawa," said Darjuan of Camacho and Segura.
Former Adamson guard Alex Desoyo had 24 points, 13 rebounds and five assists for the Staglets, winless in two games.
