ADAMSON versatile forward Adam Doria and fiery guard Tony Ynot of San Beda have been chosen to replace injured Joel Cagulangan and Clint Escamis in the 2019 Chooks-to-Go SM NBTC All-Star Game.

Cagulangan and Escamis were ranked second and eighth, respectively, in the final 2019 NBTC 24, but will be unable to see action in the week-long showcase of the most promising young talent in the country due to injury.

NCAA Juniors MVP Cagulangan of La Salle Green Hills was named captain of Team Heart, but is out with a right ankle injury. However, he will still be on the sidelines in the All-Star Game slated for March 24 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Taking his place on the court will be 6-foot-3 Doria who will bring his scoring and rebounding to Team Heart.

Already committed to Adamson's seniors squad, he was the second leading scorer for the Baby Falcons this past UAAP Season 81 and put up averages of 13.0 points and 4.2 rebounds.

Alongside Doria in Team Heart will be NU’s Carl Tamayo, LSGH's Inand Fornilos and Joshua David, Hope Christian’s Harvey Pagsanjan, Arellano’s Aaron Fermin, Mapua’s Paolo Hernandez and Dan Arches, University of Visayas’ Joshua Yerro, Lyceum’s Mac Guadana, Chiang Kai Shek’s Rafael Go, and Adamson teammate Joem Sabandal. Calling the shots for them will be Charles Tiu.

On the other hand, San Beda's Ynot will take over for Escamis in Team Hustle.

In just his first year for the Red Cubs, Escamis stood out as a consistent scoring threat and good defender. He wound up as their second leading scorer with 7.7 points per contest alongside 5.1 rebounds.

The 6-foot-1 swingman's all-around tenaciousness and nose for the ball makes him a perfect complement for Kai Sotto atTeam Hustle together with Mark Nonoy and Bismarck Lina from UST; the NU trio of Gerry Abadiano, Terrence Fortea, and Kevin Quiambao; Geo Chiu and Forthsky Padrigao of Ateneo; RJ Abarrientos of FEU; John Amores of JRU; and Jonnel Policarpio of Mapua. Chris Gavina will be their mentor.
