VICTOR Wembanyama is an All-Star - and the San Antonio Spurs' franchise player was a no-brainer choice as a reserve to the midseason exhibition on Feb. 16.
Wembanyama just missed the cut for a starting spot in the Western Conference frontline featuring Nikola Jokic, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant, but was undisputedly voted in by coaches to make his All-Star debut.
The 7-foot-3 generational talent will be joined by fellow first-timers Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets and Jalen Williams of the Oklahoma City Thunder in the West, as well as East new faces Evan Mobley from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cade Cunningham from the Detroit Pistons, and Tyler Herro from the Miami Heat.
Giannis top vote-getter yet again
All-Star starters were announced a week ago, with the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo winding up as top vote-getter yet again.
'The Greek Freak' leads the Eastern Conference's representatives alongside Cleveland's Donovan Mitchell, Boston Celtics' Jayson Tatum, and the New York Knicks pair of Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Rounding out the players from the East are Mobley, Cunningham, Herro, Boston's Jaylen Brown, Cleveland's Darius Garland, Milwaukee's Damian Lillard, and Indiana Pacers' Pascal Siakam.
Starters from the West, meanwhile, are Jokic, James, Durant, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, and MVP frontrunner Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Oklahoma City.
The Western reserves are Wembanyama, Sengun, Williams, Los Angeles Lakers' Anthony Davis, LA Clippers' James Harden, Memphis Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson Jr., and Minnesota Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards.
