Durant drops 43 as Warriors on verge of sweeping Cavs, back-to-back titles

GOLDEN State reclaimed its status as the overwhelming favorite in the NBA Finals after frustrating Cleveland, 110-102, to move on the verge of a sweep on Thursday, Manila time at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Kevin Durant scorched hot with 43 points and missed a triple-double by three assists as he made up for the early struggles of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in Game Three at the Cavs' turf.

The Warriors can pull off a sweep for with a win in Game Four of the best-of-seven series on Saturday, Manila time also in Cleveland where they could celebrate back-to-back titles and their third in four years.

With the Splash Brothers failing to find the mark, Durant took over, making 15 of his 23 attempts from the field – including a 6-of-9 clip from beyond the arc – completing his virtuoso performance with 13 rebounds, seven assists, and one steal in 43 minutes.

The Slim Reaper’s last trey with 49.8 seconds left proved to be the dagger that pierced the Cavs' hearts after it gave the Warriors a 106-100 lead.

Curry and Thompson combined for just 21 points on 7-of-27 shooting from the field.

LeBron James registered a triple-double of 33 points, 11 boards, and 10 assists, on top of two steals, and two blocks, but again found little help outside Kevin Love, JR Smith, and Rodney Hood.
