GOLDEN State regained its bearings when it mattered as it held off Cleveland, 124-114, in overtime to take Game One of the NBA Finals at the Oracle Arena.

The Warriors saw the Cavs make a late fightback in the fourth quarter to force OT, but scored the first nine points of the extra session, outscoring the visitors, 17-7, in all to break away in the opener of the best-of-seven series.

Game Two is on Monday morning at 8 a.m. Manila time.

Steph Curry showed the way with 29 points, built around five triples, nine boards, six assists, and one steal in 46 minutes for the Warriors.

LeBron James carried the fight again for the Cavs with 51 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists that went for naught as he lamented on teammate JR Smith's late blunder.
