UTAH Jazz shackled Orlando Magic’s offense late to pull away with a win, 87-74, at the Amway Center on Friday (Saturday, Manila time).

With both teams struggling from the field in a low-scoring game, the Jazz and Magic figured in a see-saw battle with the latter building their biggest lead at seven points, 34-27, midway through the second quarter. But Utah countered to take a 42-38 lead at the half.

Orlando rallied in the third and took a 68-64 lead early in the fourth, before Utah turned to its vaunted defense, holding the Magic without a field goal for more than nine minutes in a 20-4 run to pull away with the win.

Utah shot only 41 percent from the field but came out on top after holding down Orlando to just 33.3 percent shooting.

Gordon Hayward had 20 points and Derrick Favors added 18 to lift Utah to a 6-4 card. Rudy Gobert finished with a double double of 13 points and 13 rebounds.

The Magic fell to their third straight loss and are now at 3-6 despite getting 21 points from Evan Fournier and 19 markers off the bench from DJ Augustin. Nikola Vucevic and Serge Ibaka combined for a measly 12 points on a miserable 5-of-24 shooting from the floor.
