Gordon Hayward makes winning debut in return from injury as Jazz rallies past Knicks

THE Utah Jazz celebrated the season debut of Gordon Hayward with a 114-109 victory against the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden on Sunday (Monday, Manila time).

Returning from a broken finger injury he suffered four weeks ago, Hayward led the Jazz to its fourth win in seven games with 28 points and five rebounds.

Five other players scored in double figures with George Hill finishing with 23 points and nine assists. Rodney Hood added 18 markers, 12 in the last period. Both Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert provided 13 points, while Joe Johnson chipped in 10 off the bench.

Down 78-80 at the start of the fourth quarter, Utah went on a 7-0 run and never looked back.

Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis bannered the Knicks with 28 points apiece. Derrick Rose had 18 points and dished out eight assists.
