GEORGE Hill led another late-game rally as the Utah Jazz pulled away against the winless Dallas Mavericks, 97-81, at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Utah on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).

Dallas only led once, 16-15, at the start of the second quarter before the Jazz bounced back from their poor shooting in the first period to shoot 49.2 percent and take the lead the rest of the way.

The Mavericks, however, managed to keep within reach, 69-73, up until the 8:18 mark of the fourth period despite misfiring from long range with a 26.9 percent clip. Then Hill and the Jazz went on  a pivotal 24-12 run to close the game and seal Utah’s second straight win.

Hill scored 10 of his game-high 25 points in the late-game rally, hitting two of the Jazz’s four triples in that stretch. Utah made 12-of-25 from deep. Rodney Hood added 22 while Rudy Gobert finished with a double-double of 12 markers and 12 boards.

Harrison Barnes led the Mavs with 14 points while Deron Williams and Wesley Matthews each had 12 for Dallas, who have lost four games in as many outings.
