GORDON Hayward started out hot then saw his teammates step up in a torrid third quarter run to help the Utah Jazz pull away from the Atlanta Hawks, 120-95, on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time).

Hayward dropped 15 of his 30 points in the first quarter in leading the Jazz to a 27-14 start and Utah even led by as much as 17 early, before Atlanta cut the gap down to four at the break, 54-50.

But the Jazz, led by George Hill, went on a 10-0 run early in the third and never looked back as Utah shot 16-of-20 in the period to outscore Atlanta, 37-23. The Jazz reserves preserved a double digit lead and never let up in the fourth.

Hill added 22 points while Derrick Favors had a season-high 20 markers along with 10 rebounds for the Jazz, who have swept the season series with the Hawks for the first time since 2007. Utah won its third straight game to improve to 33-19.

Dennis Schroder led Atlanta (30-22) with 21 points, while Paul Millsap and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 14 apiece.
