TU Holloway and the Texas Legends turned back highly-touted Jimmer Fredette and his Westchester Knicks, 105-103, on opening day of the NBA D-league showcase on Wednesday at the Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, California (Thursday, Manila time).
Holloway matched Fredette’s 24 points as the Legends scored their ninth win in 17 games.
Jamil Wilson scored 18 and Brandon Ashley added 16 as the Legends came up with the win in an exciting match at the start of the five-day event held to help players get noticed by scouts.
Unfortunately for Fil-Am Ray Parks, he was held out of the Legends first game in the showcase, along with Indian giant Satnam Singh.
Jordan Bachynski added 17 points for the Knicks, who absorbed their seventh loss in 20 games.
