THE team of top high school prospects assembled a few months ago has been named NBA G League Ignite.
The NBA made the announcement on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).
Coached by Brian Shaw, the NBA said the team, which has Jalen Green and Kai Sotto, is “focused on NBA Draft readiness and growth of professional life skills.”

“We think it's a fitting moniker for a group comprised of young players taking the first step of their promising professional careers," said NBA G League President Shareef Abdur-Rahim said in a statement.
"These players have a passion for the game and a desire to develop their skills for the next level and it brings us a lot of pride for them to blaze trails as inaugural members of NBA G League Ignite."

The team also has Jonathan Kuminga, Daishen Nix and Isaiah Todd.
Ignite is not unaffiliated with any existing NBA G League franchise or NBA team.
