THE powerhouse Golden State Warriors clobbered the shorthanded San Antonio Spurs, 136-100, on Tuesday in Oakland (Wednesday, Manila time) to make it two straight wins in the Western Conference finals.
The Warriors scored the games’ first five points and cruised to victory, taking a 2-0 lead in best-of-seven series.
Steph Curry showed the way as the Warriors put the game away early with a 33-16 first quarter.
Twelve Warriors were fielded and seven wound up with double-figure scores, with Curry delivering 29 points on 8 of 13 shooting.
Draymond Green had 13 points, Klay Thompson added 11, while Shaun Livingston and Ian Clark scored 10 each.
The Spurs were already without top playmaker Tony Parker as early as the conference semifinals due to a torn left quadriceps tendon.
San Antonio took another huge hit when MVP contender Kawhi Leonard aggravated an ankle injury in the opener of the conference finals. It is unclear when he will be able to return to action.
Jonathon Simmons was the only San Antonio starter to score in double figures with 22 points, while Davis Bertans had 13 points off the bench.
