STEPH Curry showed some love for Manila by wearing a “Thrilla in Manila” shirt during his press conference for the Under Armour Road Show at Fairmont Hotel in Makati on Saturday.
‘Thrilla in Manila’ of course, was the final sequel to the epic trilogy between heavyweight legends Muhammad Ali and the late Joe Frazier held at the Araneta Coliseum four decades ago.
The dramatic fight, which Ali won via technical knockout after the 14th round, will celebrate its 40th anniversary on October 1.
Curry explained the one-of-a-kind shirt was made by the people behind Under Armour, a rising global athletic performance brand, as a souvenir for him.
“I just wanted to bring a little Manila flare for you and when I get back to the States,” the Golden State Warriors guard said.
