THE Philadelphia 76ers leaned on a balanced attack and some timely hits down the stretch to finally get a win this season over the Cleveland Cavaliers, 108-97, and halt a two-game skid on Thursday (Friday, Manila time)

Ben Simmons led a 10-2 run in the third quarter that extended a slim Sixers lead to as high as nine. Philadelphia then got off to a 7-0 start in the fourth to stretch the advantage to 13, 84-71, with over nine minutes to play.

Cleveland, though, refused to fold and cut the lead down to two but the Sixers responded with a 7-2 run, capped by a booming JJ Redick triple, for a 94-87 advantage with more than three minutes left.

Another Cavs fightback got them within one after a Kyle Korver trey, but Dario Saric countered with his own triple before Joel Embiid pushed the lead back up to six, 100-94, at the 1:28 mark.

Rodney Hood and LeBron James came up empty on the Cavs next possessions as the Sixers made just enough free throws to seal the win.

Redick led six Sixers (33-27), including all starters, in double figures with 22 points. Simmons finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while Embiid had a double-double with 17 markers and 14 boards.

James led the Cavs (36-25) with 30 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Larry Nance Jr and Rodney Hood chipped in 13 and 11 markers, respectively. Jordan Clarkson scored 10 off the bench.
