KAWHI Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge took charge in the fourth as the San Antonio Spurs pulled away late to snatch a win against the Phoenix Suns, 107-92, for their third straight victory on Thursday (Friday, Manila time) at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.
The Spurs led 68-59 near the end of the third but the Suns rallied back to take the lead 77-76 early in the fourth. Leonard and Aldridge then teamed up for 15 points in a telling 21-3 blitz for a commanding 97-80 advantage with 4:18 left.
Both teams fielded their reserves with 2:49 left and the Spurs still up by 17, 99-82, after a Tony Parker jumper and San Antonio cruised its way to victory after outscoring Phoenix in the fourth quarter, 33-21.
Leonard and Pau Gasol each finished with 18 points for the Spurs, who are now at 21-5 (14-1 on the road). Aldridge scored nine of his 14 markers in the fourth quarter, while Parker and Dewayne Dedmon added 11 apiece.
Phoenix fell to 8-18 despite getting 17 points from Devin Booker. Eric Bledsoe added 14, and Brandon Knight chipped in 11 off the bench.
