    Streaking Spurs put away Pelicans in OT with late flurry to keep 'Boogie-Brow' duo winless

    KAWHI Leonard came up clutch in the end of regulation and Patty Mills nailed a pair of huge triples in overtime as the San Antonio Spurs denied the New Orleans Pelicans despite big games from their twin towers Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, 101-98, on Friday (Saturday, Manila time).

    Leonard led the Spurs with 31 points, including a crucial steal and slam in the closing seconds of regulation, while Pau Gasol and Mills took over in the extra session with three triples in an 11-2 blast that sealed San Antonio’s sixth straight win.

    LaMarcus Aldridge also finished with 21 points and 15 rebounds, while Mills and Gasol scored 15 and 13, respectively, to move the Spurs to 47-13.

    The Pelicans fell to 24-38 and lost all four games with Cousins in the lineup. Davis led the way with 29 points, while Jrue Holiday added 26.

    Cousins had 19 points and 23 rebounds, but missed a possible game-tying triple at the end of the OT period.
