DEMARCUS Cousins took charge in the fourth quarter to power the Sacramento Kings to their second straight win in a wire-to-wire romp over the winless New Orleans Pelicans, 102-94, on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time).

Cousins had 11 of his team-high 28 points in the final period to help the Kings spoil another big game for Pelicans star Anthony Davis, who finished with 34 markers.

Sacramento never trailed from start to finish, but New Orleans threatened to mount a comeback in the final period as rookie Buddy Hield dropped 12 of his 14 points in the quarter. But Cousins and the Kings fought back to send the Pelicans to a 0-8 start, matching the worst season opening record in franchise history.

Rudy Gay and Arron Afflalo finished with 21 and 15 points, respectively, for the Kings, who have won two straight games to end up with a 4-5 card.

E’Twaun Moore was the only other player, aside from Davis and Hield, for New Orleans who scored in double figures with 13 points.
