    Thunder nip Grizzlies as Russell Westbook scores 45, falls just short of triple-double record

    THE Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Grizzlies, 103-100, on Wednesday in Memphis (Thursday, Manila time), with Russell Westbrook winding up a rebound short of posting a new triple-double record in the NBA.

    Westbrook scored 45 points and made 10 assists as the Thunder made it back-to-back wins and posted their 45th victory in 78 games.

    The 28-year-old Westbrook, tied with Oscar Robertson for the most triple-doubles in the season with 41, still has four games to set a new record.

    Victor Oladipo came up with 15 points, while Doug McDermott and Enes Kanter chippedin with 10 points each.

    The Grizzlies suffered their third straight loss and 37th in 79 outings.

    Marc Gasol scored 23 points, and Zach Randolph came off the bench to deliver 20 points and nine rebounds.
