NONE other than NBA legend Michael Jordan himself will present Russell Westbrook into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame this November 17.
According to The Oklahomans’s Darnell Mayberry, the six-time NBA champion and Charlotte Hornets owner will be present to induct Westbrook, one of the major endorsers of the Jordan Brand. The Thunder star was deeply honored with the act of His Airness.
“It's definitely a huge honor in itself for M.J. to come down to Oklahoma and take part in the Oklahoma Hall of Fame festivities. It really means a lot to me that he's going to be there, and it's something that I definitely don't take for granted,” said Westbrook in a statement.
Incidentally, Westbrook performed the same honors for former Thunder teammate Kevin Durant’s induction to the state’s hall of fame last year, with Durant hopeful at the time to do the same for the OKC guard this year.
The new member of the Golden State Warriors, however, will not be in attendance for Westbrook's induction.
