RUSSELL Westbrook drained the game-winning jumper as the Oklahoma City Thunder snapped the Jazz’ six-game winning streak with 97-95 win on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time) in Utah.
The game was tied at 95-all when Westbrook sank the 20-footer with 1.4 seconds left. The Jazz called a timeout but Alec Burks missed his 3-point attempt as time expired.
Westbrook also recorded his 22nd triple-double of the season with 38 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Victor Oladipo added 18 and Enes Kanter with 14 points for the Thunder which ended a two-game slump.
The Thunder was up 56-53 at halftime but only managed to score 11 points in the third quarter, with Utah taking on a 72-67 lead at the end of the period.
Both teams led by as much as nine points during the game, which became a close battle in the last five minutes with several lead exchanges after every basket.
Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 17 points. Burks added 13 while Rudy Gobert finished with 12 points and nine boards.
