THE Sixers overcame a slow start and ripped the Dallas Mavericks, 116-74, on Friday in Philadelphia (Saturday, Manila time).
Robert Covington showed the way as the Sixers limited the Mavericks overpowered the Mavericks, 30-17, in the second period after trailing by two after one quarter.
The Sixers went on to limit the Mavericks to 16 points in the third and 18 in the fourth, bouncingback from a loss to the Golden State Warriors.
Covington scored 18 points on 4 of 8 shooting as the Sixers notched their 24th win in 67 outings.
It was only the second win in the last seven games for Philadelphia.
Richaun Holmes went 8 for 11 and finished with 17 points, while Justin Anderson came off the bench to match the output by making 7 of 11 field goal attempts.
The Mavericks absorbed their 39th loss in 68 outings.
Dirk Nowitzki was the only Dallas starter to score in double figures with 10.
Dwight Powell had 14 points off the bench, while JJ Barea added 11.
