RK Ilagan hit timely triples in the final two minutes as San Sebastian turned back Arellano University, 71-63, on Wednesday in the Filoil Flying V Premier Cup in San Juan.
Ilagan scattered 14 points, making four three-pointers, the last two he made after Kent Salado tied the game at 63.
Michael Calisaan had 11 points and two rebounds as the Stags rolled to their fifth straight victory after dropping the opener, while the Chiefs suffered their fourth loss in five games.
"The boys are playing their hearts out, every game iba-iba nag-step up so I think everybody wants to win. Di na sila nagi-give up," said San Sebastian coach Egay Macaraya.
San Sebastian got off to a scintillating start, moving ahead, 22-8, and continued the run for a 41-24 at halftime.
The Chiefs rallied behind Allen Enriquez and Kent Salado to trim the gap before the Stags broke free in the final two minutes.
Enriquez scored 15 points, while Salado finished with 15 markers, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
