Austin Spurs secure win in overtime as Texas Legends squander lead in regulation

    Nov 21, 2015

THE Austin Spurs recovered from nine points down in the second half to force overtime and took control in extra minutes to spoil the Texas Legends’ home opener, 110-103, in the NBA D-League on Friday at Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco (Saturday, Manila time).

The Legends committed five turnovers in the fourth quarter and overtime, while the Spurs played steady to preserve their unmblemished record.

Bryce Cotton completed a three-point play to extend a hairline lead to four with 36.9 seconds left in the extra period and the Spurs went on to take their second victory over the Legends in the young season.

Ray Parks had another quiet game, missing his lone shot in two minutes of action, logging a rebound and two fouls.

The Spurs are unbeaten in four games and the Legends now hold a 1-2 record.

Down six early, the Legends got things back even, 50-50, with 3:02 left in the second quarter and took the upperhand, 55-52, at intermission.

A Tu Holloway jumper and Wilson layup gave the Legends an 88-83 lead and the home team looked set to cruise to victory before squandering the lead in the dying moments.
