RAY Allen made a surprise visit to Philippines and was quickly blown away, but not in a good way, by the horrendous Metro Manila traffic.
Following his Hong Kong trip for a sneaker conference, the retired NBA sharpshooter posted a boarding pass of his first flight to Manila on social media on Tuesday.
“My first time in the thrilla,” Allen wrote on the caption of his post.
Hours later, the 42-year-old guard had another post, this time sharing his 7-mile run around Makati and shared a photo of his first impression with the congested streets.
“Me and @tyfleming3 ventured into the unknown this morning. We ran through many different neighborhoods often times hoping we were heading in the right direction. The traffic was everywhere!!!,” he posted on his Instagram account with hashtags #carpediem #tuktuk #manilamiles #runtheworld #runningisfree
Allen’s surprise visit comes after another NBA star in Metta World Peace made his own first trip to Manila, while his former Miami Heat teammate LeBron James makes his return to the Philippines later in the week.
The two-time NBA champ officially retired last year after playing in his final season with the Miami Heat in 2014.
