SECOND overall pick Brandon Ingram had a dud for a preseason debut but surprise starter Lou Williams shined in his new role to lead the Los Angeles Lakers past the Sacramento Kings, 103-84, on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time) in Anaheim, California.
Williams led the Lakers with 15 points but Ingram missed all five field goal attempts, four from 3-point range, and finished with two points in 27 minutes off the bench and fellow guard D'Angelo Russell had only four on 2-of-8 shooting.
Last season’s starting shooting guard Jordan Clarkson began the preseason under new coach Luke Walton in a reserve role but contributed 12 points and six rebounds in the win.
DeMarcus Cousins had 11 points and six rebounds in just 15 minutes. Arron Afflalo, who spent last season with the Knicks, led Sacramento with 14 points.
