PAUL Millsap hit the go-ahead basket with 27 seconds left in the fourth overtime and the Hawks edged the New York Knicks, 142-139, on Sunday in Atlanta (Monday, Manila time).
Millsap grabbed the rebound after a Tim Hardaway miss, then hit a layup to make it 141-139.
Dennis Schroder split his free throws line off a Willy Hernangomez foul with 10 seconds remaining for the final count.
Millsap wound up with 37 points, making 13 of 29 field goal attempts as the Hawks bounced back from a loss to the Washington Wizards.
Kent Bazemore scored 24 points on 9 of 15 shooting, while Schroder went 9 for 25 and wound up with 23 points as Atlanta notched its 28th win in 48 outings.
The Knicks couldn’t get a win run going after a win over the Charlotte Hornets, absorbing their 28th loss in 49 games.
Carmelo Anthony had 45 points on 18 of 26 shooting for New York.
Brandon Jennings went 5 for 15 and had 18 points.
