    Paul George scores 37 as Pacers defeat Magic to close in on playoff berth

    THE Indiana Pacers boosted its bid for a playoff spot with a 127-112 victory over the Magic on Saturday in Orlando (Sunday, Manila time).

    Paul George showed the way for the Pacers, who made it three straight wins.

    The Pacers are running seventh in the Eastern Conference with a 40-40 win-loss record.

    George scored 37 points on 14 for 22 shooting, while Myles Tuner had a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds.

    Thaddeus Young had 14 points, while reserves CJ Miles and Kevin Seraphin chipped in with 11 points each.

    The Magic, coming off a win over the Brooklyn Nets, suffered their sixth loss in the last seven games.

    Terrence Ross went 10 for 17 and wound up with 29 points, while Evan Fournier scored 23.

    Aaron Gordon scored 17 and Elfrid Payon had 10 points and 10 assists for Orlando.
