    Spurs extend unbeaten run on the road with big win over Lakers

    LAMARCUS Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard each scored 23 points as the San Antonio Spurs outlasted the young Lakers, 116-107, on Friday in Los Angeles (Saturday, Manila time) for their fifth straight win.

    Leonard also had 12 rebounds and seven assists for the Spurs who shot at a 56.4 percent clip from the field and had seven players score in double figures against the Lakers in their first regular NBA game after the retirement of long-time stars Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan.

    Pau Gasol and Tony Parker both scored 16 points, while Patty Mills had 11 points and three three assists for the Spurs who are 7-0 on the road. Manu Ginobili and Danny Green chipped in 10 points apiece.

    The game was tied 52 at the end of the half. The Lakers managed to take lead at the start of the third quarter before the Spurs made 11 straight shots in a 14-2 run.

    The Spurs led by as many as 17 but the Lakers made several runs in the last quarter. Back-to-back triples from Nick Young and Jordan Clarkson cut the deficit to 109-104 before Parker knocked in a 17-footer to put the game away.

    Lou Williams scored 24 points off the bench while Clarkson added 20 markers, 11 in the final period. Young went 4-7 from three for 22 points.
