NATE McMillan's guidance of the Indiana Pacers in their Cinderella run last season has been rewarded.
The veteran tactician is set to sign basically a two-year contract extension after steering the Pacers to 48 wins last season and a near upset of Cleveland in the first round of the playoffs in their first year without Paul George.
Adrian Wojnarowski reported the development, saying McMillan, who would’ve entered the last year of an original three-year contract, will sign a new deal that will run until the 2020-21 season.
McMillan had one guaranteed year left on his deal. Pacers won 48 games, earned 5th seed in East and took Cavs to seven games in first-round series. https://t.co/MPO8pK6hss

The 53-year-old McMillan has found a home in Indiana, having been with the team the last five years - the first three as associate head coach under Frank Vogel - after stints with Portland and Seattle.
