THE Wizards built an early cushion large enough to survive a third-quarter dip and hold off the Memphis Grizzlies, 101-101, on Wednesday in Washington (Thursday, Manila time).
Otto Porter and John Wall showed the way as the Wizards led by as many as 19 in the second quarter and went on to record their third straight win.
The Grizzlies got to within 95-97 on a Mike Conley triple entering the final two minutes, but back-to-back baskets by Wall gave the Wizards some breathing room on the way to their 22nd win in 41 games.
Porter came up with 25 points on 9 of 12 shooting, while Wall also finished with 25 points, making 7 of 18 field goal attempts.
The Grizzlies absorbed their second straight loss and 19th in 44 outings.
