LAS VEGAS - Kai Sotto may have missed out on the Orlando Magic's first Summer League game, but coach Dylan Murphy assures the Filipino youngster will get an opportunity to prove his worth.
Speaking to SPIN.ph after the Magic's 89-78 loss to the Detroit Pistons in the halls of the Thomas & Mack Center, Murphy said everyone in his 16-man Summer League team will be given the chance to shine.

That includes the 7-foot-3 Sotto, who dressed even though he was listed as a DNP-CD (Did Not Play-Coach's Decision) for Sunday's game.
"He'll definitely get minutes," Murphy, a long-term Magic assistant and coach of the franchise's G League affiliate and its Summer League team, said. "As for when, we're gonna play that by ear."
Sotto, who is looking to become the first homegrown Filipino player to make it to the NBa, said he was one of five players who were informed by the coaches well in advance that they won't be fielded in the game against the Pistons.
Murphy stuck with a 10-player rotation during the game, saying, "We got a lot of talented players. Everyone's gonna get an opportunity in the Summer League."
The coach also heaped praise on his Filipino player.
"He's doing a really good job in our practices," Murphy said. "Credit to him he's got a good attitude, doing things the right way."
