RUSSELL Westbrook nabbed triple-double no.27 in leading the Oklahoma City Thunder comeback from 17 points down to beat the New York Knicks, 116-105, at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).
Westbrook had 38 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists for his 27th triple-double of the season, one shy of Oscar Robertson’s record for most triple-doubles before the All-Star break.
The OKC star already had a triple double midway through the third in turning a 17-point deficit into an 8-point advantage with a 34-10 run bridging the middle quarters.
The Thunder never let up as the Knicks only got as close as three the rest of the way, with 13-4 strong finishing kick to take the fight out of New York.
Victor Oladipo had 21 points to help the Thunder snap a two-game skid and improve to 32-25. Jerami Grant scored 13 off the bench, and Steven Adams had 11 markers and eight rebounds.
Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks (23-34) with 30 points, and Derrick Rose added 25 markers. Courtney Lee chipped in 16 while Kristaps Porzingis played through a bum stomach and added 11.
