Nowitzki leads Mavericks in demolishing undermanned Grizzlies

DIRK Nowitzki led the Dallas Mavericks with 20 points in his return from an stomach virus to beat the undermanned Memphis Grizzlies 105-88 on Wednesday night (Thursday, Manila time).

The Mavericks (15-10) have won two straight to equal their season high of five games over .500, while Memphis (10-15) has lost five in a row and seven of eight.

Nowitzki also tallied six rebounds, five assists, two steals and one blocked shot for Dallas (15-10). Monta Ellis scored 16 of his 18 points in the final period. Vince Carter added 14 points, Jose Calderon had 12 and Shawn Marion 10. Samuel Dalembert finished with eight points and seven rebounds.

Absent from the Memphis lineup due to a slew of injuries were starters Tayshaun Prince, point guard Mike Conley and center Marc Gasol.
