The Bulls got back up as the rollercoaster run continued, scoring their third win in the last six games.
Mirotic went 11 for 14, including 6 for 9 from beyond the arc in 35 minutes of action.
Butler scored 20 as Chicago notched its 35th win in 73 games.
Rajon Rondo went 8 for 11, wound up with 18 points and was an assist shy of a double-double, while Robin Lopez also scored 18, making 9 of 13 field goal attempts.
The Bucks saw their win streak end at three.
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 22, while Greg Monroe came off the bench to deliver 16 points.
Malcolm Brogdon and Khris Middleton had 14 points each for Milwaukee, which absorbed its 36th loss in 73 games.
