NIKE wasted no time after Kevin Durant’s decision to join the Golden State Warriors.
Durant’s latest signature shoe can now be had in the Dubs’ Royal Blue and California Golden Yellow colorway via NIKEiD which made the Warriors colors an available option for the KD 9.
Standard releases have yet to be announced but sneakerheads and fans can purchase the custom options on NIKEiD, a clever marketing move for The Swoosh.
The shoes are available for a limited time on the Nike website. The multicolor option id only available in North America while the home and away options for personalization are available globally.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Durant addressed the retail cost of his signature line. The KD 1 was priced at $88 while the KD2 and KD3 went even lower at $85. The current KD9 has an SRP of $150 which is $30 cheaper than the previous KD8.
"“As humbly as I can say it, I’m not a $88 player,” said Durant who just signed to play for the Warriors for $26 million per season. “I’m an elite player in the league. I wanted everything to be affordable, but I knew we had to sacrifice some stuff. I just wanted the fans of the brand and of the shoe to just stay patient with me. And stay patient with who I am as a player, and the level I was trying to go to.”
