FORMER Los Angeles Laker Nick Young is set to ink a one-year deal worth US$5.2 million with the NBA titleholders Golden State Warriors.
The 6-foot-7 Young last season averaged 13.2 points for the Lakers and is expected to be a big bench boost.
The 32-year old Young, who played the past four seasons with the Lakers, had earlier this week been seen with Warriors star forward Draymond Green. Espn.com reported the deal on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).
A 10-year NBA veteran, Young had earlier opted out of the final year of a contract with the Lakers, which would have gotten him US$5.7 million, which isn’t too far from the Warriors deal.
The Warriors continue to make additions to the squad after securing the key pieces to its title run, with the MVP duo of Steph Curry and Kevin Durant agreeing to terms.
