WILL Barton made five three-pointers en route to a career-high 31 points and helped the undermanned Denver Nuggets defeat the Dallas Mavericks, 110-87, on Monday night (Sunday, Manila time) in Denver.

Gary Harris scored 20 points and Wilson Chandler added 14 points and 10 rebounds for Denver, which was missing starters Danilo Gallinari (left groin strain) Emmanuel Mudiay (lower back injury) and Kenneth Faried (personal matters).

The Nuggets outscored Dallas 30-13 in the second quarter to close the half with a 59-37 advantage.

Denver saw its 27-point lead cut to 13 after triples Wesley Matthews and Seth Curry  Dallas sparked a rally with six minutes left in the game. Denver countered with a 7-0 run to bring back the margin to 20.

Dallas, which saw its four-game winning streak snapped, was led by Seth Curry and Yogi Ferrell with 15 points each.

The Mavericks were also short-handed, with Deron Williams and Andrew Bogut on the injured list.
