Wizards march on to Eastern Conference semis after disposing of Hawks in six

THE Washington Wizards finally took a road win in the first round and disposed of the Hawks with a 115-99 Game Six rout on Friday in Atlanta (Saturday, Manila time).

John Wall had a playoff career-high 42 points as the Wizards won the best-of-seven series 4-2.

The Wizards next take on the East top seeds Boston Celtics, who eliminated the eighth-ranked Chicago Bulls also in six games.

Wall played 44 minutes and went 16 for 25 as for the fourth-seeded Wizards, who saw a 22-point lead trimmed to three, 93-90, early in the fourth but recovered to seal the series.

Bradley Beal scored 31 on 11 of 17 shooting, while Markieff Morris added 17 points.

Bojan Bogdanovic came off the bench to deliver 10 points.

The Hawks got 31 points from Paul Millsap, while Dennis Schroder scored 36 and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 13.
